THE FOLLOWING ARE EXPECTED OF ALL TEACHERS: SESSION 2024-25

  1. Up-to-date and proper correction work of students’ books, well planned lesson plans, proper execution of lesson plans, mandatory work plan to be submitted during leave absence.
  2. Physical and behavioral in terms of dressing, talking, language etc. Refrain from gossiping and spreading rumors), etc. Advocate proper civic sense.
  3. Keep a healthy distance from students, do not gossip with them, be approachable without being too familiar. Any kind of physical contact is not permitted.
  4. 4. Proper conduct with parents: Always be polite and positive.
  5. Non-discriminatory, unbiased attitude: over praising of the good students and victimizing of the weak is not permitted
  6. Zero tolerance policy to corporal punishment. Any physical or psychological acts such as- beating, pushing, pulling, shoving or criticizing etc. of the students will be treated as corporal punishment by the management.
  7. Teachers are NOT permitted to send the students out of the classroom as punishment. They may however make them stand in the corner so they do not miss the lesson.
  8. Do not lose control of your temper and end up shouting and screaming at the students. Always conduct yourself with dignity.
  9. 9. Make proper use of Teaching Skills, strategies and resources while teaching.
  10. 10. Conduct regular class tests and keep proper records.
  11. 11. Use the school diary for sending notes to parents. (Weekly submission and checking).
  12. 12. Selecting or designing learning activities that are clearly connected to instructional goals and objectives;
  13. 13. Planning lessons that are clear, logical, and sequential;
  14. 14. Incorporating activities and teaching innovations that promote the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills;
  15. 15. Talking in English with students and colleagues in the school;
  16. 16. Honestly admitting when required that ‘I do not know’ and stating that ‘I will find out’. Acknowledging the sources of all teaching resources such as presentations, videos, cases, assignments, exercises, activities, games, role plays
  17. 17. Behaving with the students/colleagues/parents as expected from a teacher.
  18. 18. Making a careful reading of the notices/circulars/office-orders and to work accordingly.
  19. 19. Speaking respectfully of Management with colleagues and students; promptly fulfilling reporting and administrative obligations; giving due notice of intention to quit the service, recognizing the effect of the decision on management and students; refraining from actions which are in conflict with institutional mission, goals and policy.
  20. 20. Performing the House duties and other special and additional duties as assigned sincerely, carefully and with utmost sense of responsibility, co-operation and co-ordination.

 

CLASS TEACHERS’ ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Your classroom and your students should be your pride and joy! It is a reflection of you and your own personal standards. If you advocate healthy practices, your children will succeed.

 

  1. Be present in the class within time.
  2. Make sure your children are always neat and clean and they practice healthy habits.

 

  1. Make sure your classroom is always clean, the furniture well aligned and the dustbin cleared.

 

  1. Attendance register must be maintained by the class teacher only. Students are not permitted to fill in for the teacher.

 

  1. If they have any problems with other subjects do take it up with the subject teacher and see what you can do.
  2. Be someone whom your children can run to in times of both trouble and joy.

 

  1. Create that special bond with your students so that they will want to always please you with good results and good behavior. Be encouraging and always have something positive to say even to the weak / lazy /mischievous ones.

 

  1. Show them that you care about them and that you are always there to help them. If they come to you to pour out their problems take it as a big compliment and achievement.

 

  1. Children do not trust and confide easily, so if they do, keep it confidential and do not discuss it in the staffroom. If you are unsure of how to tackle the problem come seek help from the management.

 

  1. Get to know all your children’s background. You will be able to understand them better. Get to know their parents too and keep in close touch especially with the weak students’ parents.

12.Maintain the Student’s Attendance Register properly. To submit them complete in all respects, to the Principal for checking on the last working day of every month. Entries regarding date of birth of child and SC/ST/OBC entries should be correct and written using Red Ink.

 

13.Utilize first few minutes of the first period to instruct the students regarding uniform, performance in morning assembly, class discipline, maintenance of students’ possessions, class –room furniture and school property, cleanliness of class-rooms, general manners, etiquettes, and good habits.

 

DUTIES DURING MORNING ASSEMBLY:

  1. The Class Teacher will accompany and lead the students of their respective classes to the Morning Assembly.
  2. Punctuality and promptness of Class Teacher along with respective students immediately after the Assembly bell/Drum beat.
  3. Ensuring that uniform check is conducted by Line Monitor and students are made to stand height wise in increasing order in a straight line with adequate gap between two students.
  1. Ensuring that the students disperse to the respective classes maintaining line discipline.

  INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED WHEN A STUDENT BRINGS A LEAVE LETTER:

 

  1. The application should be properly
  2. Signature of Parent is compulsorily.
  • Reason for leave to be
  1. If reason is found genuine, the application is to be forwarded to the Principal with the following remarks of the teacher
  2. Total attendance since 1st April
  3. Total attendance of a child in
  4. Recommended/Not Recommended with the Class Teacher`s signature

 

                                          Points to be remembered for PTM:

 

  1. Whenever you start attending a parent, start with a smile and positive note. Every child has some positive traits—appreciate the good qualities first—– then point out the areas of concern.
  2. Politely tell the parent not to compare siblings as everyone`s capabilities and attitudes are different. The child`s goodness must be appreciated.
  3. When you talk about improving the child`s performance, always use ‘WE’ (you and parent).It will work to bring about the desires changes/progress.
  4. If the child is really weak, just say he needs more support.
  5. If the parents ask for your personal phone number, politely tell them what will be the convenient time for you to take their call.
  6. Be open to take their suggestions in the PTM Register.
  7. Address one parent at one time. If any parent is not under control, politely tell them to meet the Principal.
  8. Tell them about the sports, house and club activities or any new introduced method of academics going on in the school (just like this session we have introduced Sub-enrichment activities).
  9. If you are facing a parent who is unresponsive to your efforts for the child; doesn`t sign the diary & no parental effort is there, do not show your anger and frustration. Be normal and deal firmly.
  10. Check with the parents the family atmosphere that is leading to a specific child`s behavior. Deal with the child accordingly.
  11. If during the PTM, discussion goes in some other direction, kindly ask parent to fix up another time for it as PTM is exclusively fixed for academics only.
  12. Collect the diaries of indisciplined students before PTMs, to be shown to their parents.
